Study Guide for This Friday!!!

Even though it is early, it's never too early to start studying! Here is a list of things that you will need to be able to describe this Friday for the quiz.

The Rock Cycle
Fossil Fuels
How Fossil Fuels form
Sedimentary Rock
Metamorphic Rock
Igneous Rock
Solar Energy
Wind Energy
Geothermal Energy
Renewable Resources
Non Renewable Resources
Fossils and their depth

We will go over what they are on Thursday!!

This week's Driving Questions!!!!

Earth PLB Week 2 Driving Question:

What causes the formation of sedimentary rocks and fossil fuels, identify alternative energy resources such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biofuels, and identify fossils as evidence of past living organisms and how the land used to be.

What you need to know:
You will need to be able to explain how sedimentary rocks form.
You will need to know how fossils are located and what they depth they are found tells us.
You will need to know why fossils are important.
You will need to know what fossil fuels are and how they form.
You will need to know what alternative energy is.
You will need to know what renewable and nonrenewable resources are.
You will need to know what wind energy, solar energy, hydroelectric energy, geothermal energy, and biofuels are.
We will go over the necessary definitions in class Monday.

Earth Science Project Based Learning

This week’s driving question: How do the sun, moon, and earth compare to one another, and how does the sun effect the earth?

By Friday, you and your group will need to be able to describe how the sun and ocean interact in the water cycle, know the difference between weather and climate, as well as identify and compare the physical characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.  . You will need to be able to describe all of them in depth. On Friday you will be quizzed over them. As usual, I will join your group and discuss them with you.  Do not forget to give credit to your sources and you should be able to find much of this information in books, as well as the Internet.
