Unit 2: Force, Motion, and Energy

As you are making your presentation, here are a few things to include:

Force:

At least three everyday examples: Swings, Teeter totter, Tug o' War, Bicycle, etc.

Energy:

How does energy change into useable forms? Flashlights, Pencil Sharpeners, Bikes, Hair Dryers, Toasters, etc.

Motion:

Give examples of each of the three laws. Film them. Remember to make them easy enough for a third grader to understand.

Also, what is a simple machine? How do they work?

Gravity and Friction:

What would life be like with less gravity? More gravity?

How does friction affect our everyday lives? Does it make sense to increase or decrease friction on the bottom of your shoes or on tires? What are some other examples of friction? Brakes, street surfaces.

What would life be like without friction??

I will be using the best of these to create an iBook. Do your best!!!

Matter Matters!!

Okay, you will be working with your group today to define four words that we are still struggling with. Mass, Volume, Density, and Matter (the phases and particle arrangements). You need to draw, describe, and label your poster. Remember to use this as an opportunity to prepare for the test on Friday. Please use the following resources:
